POCEF is committed to lowering the costs of health care in two key ways: 1) making health insurance more affordable and; 2) reducing the price people pay for prescription drugs. The American Rescue Plan includes provisions that reduce the cost of health insurance but much more needs to be done to make health care more affordable. The POCEF will educate the public about the need to:
Lowering the Cost of Health Care
- Make the ACA Premium Tax Credit (APTCs) permanent so that the cost of health coverage will continue to be reduced by thousands of dollars for millions of Americans.
- Empower Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices, set out of pocket caps for drug coverage, and stop egregious annual price hikes.
